Every year, after we pack our costumes away and polish off that last piece of Halloween candy, we’re faced with a choice, how do we dispose of our rotting pumpkins? Well last year, Ontario County residents decided to bring 3.25 tons of them to our pumpkin composting events.
Composting your pumpkins helps ensure they aren’t adding weight to our bins or taking up wasted space in our landfills. Not a composter? Just bring your old pumpkins to one of three convenient locations on Saturday, November 9th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
We’ll do the dirty work at:
Town of Victor Transfer Station
60 Rawson Road, Victor
Town of Geneva Transfer Station
32 White Springs Road, Geneva
Ontario County Parking Lot
Corner of Ontario and Pleasant Street, Canandaigua
